This is when I think its "over-meddling".
3 ex-maids fined for "moonlighting"
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1218805/1/.html
True, general workers shouldnt be moonlighting in other firms or forced to work in multiple locations IF the person involved is reluctant (since forced or directed by employer means no additional income for the helper)....
HOWEVER if I am an domestic helper employer and IF it is what my helper desires to do on her off day, I RATHER have my domestic helper earning her keep on her off day at someone's household than be loitering on the streets. In many counts, I would thought it is more beneficial for my helper to have additional source of income from her skills, less headache and fear for me that the helper will be accquainted with undesirable influences out there or being "forced" to fritter away their time in the mall etc. Of course if the helper so choose not to work, it's her right as well.
Some of these helpers have a huge financial committment and some would prefer to do anything to reduce that debt in the shortest possible time. So in this sudden unnecessary interest by the authorities & meddling, i find it a lose-lose situation.
Plus, isnt Singapore crowded enough on weekends? How many more people u want out there on the streets? Additionally, how many more foreign workers the country want to let in as domestic helper, like for every household? Not everyone needs or wants a helper 24/7 or wants to be liable for someone else apart from the hours that she is working for them. Plus our local business supply of part time help is overpriced and low in supply... Not that I believe it is the case but for the sake of throwing it out there, is this some ploy to help NTUC promote their home helpers?
Before the govt tries to clam down on illegal moonlighting, then please, try to provide free or discounted training for local citizens to perform domestic chores as part of their income, or support local SME to provide affordable services to replace the gap left by foreign helpers working beyond their employers.
This is what I hate about Singapore "by the book process" sometimes, always try to close the loophole without providing a viable alternative channel first. The problem isthat these foreign workers cannot come work in Singapore as hourly rate part time helpers without a sponsor in the first place, so they couldnt be working as legal full time "hourly rate" workers in the first place. So care to tell me then what are the alternatives? Many including myself had tried the local help and frankly, they are just not as good, detailed and attentive as some of these part time domestic helpers, not to mention ALL the freaking restrictions like I only get to choose either certain hours package, with some even trying to CHARGE for EACH item ironed. So smarty pants, any solutions?
Okie...just ranting away as usual...

Hysan Place: Looking forward to the grand opening of new mall
One of the perks about living in CWB is that shops are constantly changing and I am so near all the great malls and shops, though I do hate the high rental squeezing my fav cheap shops out of business..
Still, I am now anticipating the biggest latest happening a stone's throw away from home.
Apart from A&F opening in Central Peddler Building on 11Aug, I am rather more excited about the opening of the new mall- Hysan Place near my place this coming Friday, 10th Aug. From then till 25th Aug, it will be opened till 12 midnite! (The place was jammed pack even at to midnite as evident from the photo!!!)
Apart from Taiwan's Eslite bookstore launching flagship here (supposedly biggest in HK) taking up 3 floors, happy that DFS is also having a new branch here for their cosmetics brands. Great! Save me trip to TST DFS from now on!
Apart from some common brands, other retail stores are brands (eg: Double Standard) that supposedly isnt available in other malls and making a splash in HK for the first time. Good thing is that there isnt gonna be another mall stacked full of pricey high end luxury fashion but the stores seemed to target more on youngster with purchasing power.

Catching up over dinner and something new to learn...
Havent met my ex-colleagues for quite some time now, with a few since I left the company. So it was a pleasant surprise and with anticipation to join them for dinner upon invite from my replacement.
Headed to Wu Kong Shanghai Restaurant now relocated to Lee Theatre and dinner was surprisingly pretty decent actually. We had the 6 pax set dinner and it came out to about HK275 each. My fav was actually their crispy skin chicken. The cabbage soup was good, but the pan fried meat bun wasnt as good as Xiao Nan Guo Shanghainese place.
Lots of laughs over dinner. Lotsa catchup. Guess over the 5 years, alot had happened. Ex-colleagues who had been reposted overseas such as Singapore, or had new jobs elsewhere had all apparently all headed back to Hong Kong. I guess I really should stop being so lazy and try to catch up with more people!
Learnt 2 things over dinner today. That some Hk people believed that it is important to have "backing" behind your seat. So if you cannot have a wall behind you, what they did was to hang a yellow or brown jacket over their seat to symbolise "mountain" (related to earth). The jacket is never worn by the way. Apparently, sales people would also prefer not to have window seat with the sea view behind them as compared to mountain view.
Second thing learnt tonite.
There is this term called "飞机骨" in Cantonese.
It refers to those sexual massages in those indecent "chinese massage" parlor in China and Hong Kong...
If you book a private room by yourself, it is very likely you will be accosted by the masseuse. Some would ask, some would just massage those sensitive close to private areas and if there is no "objection", it is assumed that "extra services" is expected....
Every other day in HK, there is something new to learn:)

Conversation over tea with a gf
A fren shared with us recently that she had thought about going under the knife. I was kinda stunned and asked her why on earth would she think of something like that when she is only 33yr and especially when there is absolutely nothing wrong with her face.
She claimed that she has sagging eyelids. None that was noticeable to me nor my man. In fact the only thing that had stopped her in her track was $. Accordingly, she was quoted over SG$8k to have her lids done. The amount to me was frankly staggering ridiculous, especially when she isnt earning alot, but most of all, there is NOTHING WRONG with her face. Ok I will admit upfront I am the sort who is anti-cosmetic surgery and anti-tattoo without a real purpose. Basically I cherish my own skin that my parents gave me, and while making statement is all jolly good, I prefer something that is reversible.
I shared with her candidly that I didnt think it was necessary. Personally, cosmetic surgery to me is best suited for people with actual needs like some birth defects, or accident recovery or for some people who really do need the makeover to instill some self confidence through boosting their looks. Otherwise, it's really pure vanity misplaced.
Obviously my fren kept on talking about her other girlfriend who had cosmetic surgery done to her lower jaw, and how she was so "brave" that she had the operation done via inside the jaw rather than out so that it wont leave any visible scar.
I told her, obviously her friend had not learnt painful lessons from Michael jackson. My friend's defense was that he was a freak case. True but I asked her if she realised that cosmetic surgery will never be a one time thing. It's like telling a lie, you need one to cover the other over time. For some, they will never be completely satisfied because as we aged, our features and elasticity change etc, and there will always be more work to be done or redone. Then my fren tried to explain that she wont get addicted as she only got one tattoo and not more even though people said tattoo was addictive. I didnt want to remind her that she was bitching about the pain and honestly, I didnt even know wat kind of stand or statement she was trying to make by having her hip inked.
At the end of the day, it's not my decision and she isnt related to me for me to actually want to sway her off the track.
I know her desire for botox and cosmetic surgery stems from the fact that at 33yr, she still didnt have a boyfriend. Her last relationship being 11 yrs ago. Doesnt help her case when she has some expectation of the guy she wants to date, and the type of guys she wants to date frankly will not date her. I hate to say it but i can sense her desperation because she really isnt ugly but the only thing that stands between her and men, her plus size.
She is a big gal. Factually stating and not being malicious, the size of her thighs is prob about 2.5 of my arm. So she has alot on her and alot to work on... She is nice, sweet and a pleasant face, but the world is cruel against people of plus size, esp for gals. Men are visual creatures. I remembered once we went somewhere together and she seemed interested in the guy. We ended up chatting together and exchanged numbers. She was hoping the guy would call, but he didnt. I had to stop her from being stupid to want to call the dude at 3am after a few glasses of wine. I didnt tell her till this day that the guy had actually called me instead and it was obvious that the guy wasnt interested in big size gal regardless how chirpy or sociable she is.
I had desperately wanted to grab her by her arms and shake some senses into her, that in fact, rather than spend $8k on cosmetic surgery on something she didnt need, I had wanted to tell her she is better off to use that money to pay for personal instructor to get the weight off. I bet if she take off 10kg, she will be instantly attractive and open up her pool of men choices. Unfortunately, many women would rather take the easy way out than work on the problem...exercise.
She asked me how to get guys to like her, seemingly that I didnt have problems connecting with dudes. I could only tell her confidence in self and stop seeing every guy as a potential catch coz it scares guys off. Plus, the fact that she "wanted to be wanted" makes guys wary and cautious around her. Now that isnt something that will exactly help sparks fly is it? ...
Let's face it, guys are often wary about gals who are overly desperate. Men in general prefer the thrill of the chase, they dont want someone easy or waiting for them to scoop them up.
Sigh...I can only hope one day my fren will wisen up, and stop relying on quick fix, waste money on fortune tellers, and just be brave enough to take a good hard look at the real problem. God gives me strength to have the courage to tell her in her face that her obesity is one major obstacle for her. All good and well to celebrate being true to yourself, but another to be a complete sloth and expect someone else to accept that.

Recipe: Chicken Pho
Since I am still enjoying my one week break from class, I thought I would challenge myself into making something new for dinner tonight. So for a change but not straying too far off, I opted to try making Vietnamese Chicken Pho tonite!
I searched around abit for a more authentic recipe rather than those half fusion ones like those featured in Masterchef Australia. I have never heard of celery and thyme in any Asian broth so I cut all those stuff out. Interestingly, I chanced upon a "true-blue" recipe written by a Vietnamese targeted for her American audience. (http://www.vietworldkitchen.com/blog/2007/06/chicken_pho_noo.html)
I must say I am pretty proud of myself. Pulled it off nicely for my first attempt! Another recipe patted down good. It took way much longer than I expected for some unknown reason, but the soup was definitely good:) Amazing what simple ingredients pulled together make such a difference. I used all the ingredients in the link above except Cloves which I omitted because i forgotten about it in my shopping list.
What I did was to look through what ingredients she used and used the portions in estimate since I was too lazy to try to convert the weight measurement. Instinct took over for most part which may explain the longer than usual process.

Recipe: Steamed Moreton Bay Bug with fried garlic & chilli
Slowly compiling my culinary moments here. One of my recent meal, steamed flathead lobster aka Moreton Bay bug (as known in Australia). In Singapore it is called crayfish 虾婆 but that is a misidentification since actual crayfish means something else altogether from what I gathered.
This dish is one of my childhood favorite. The only way I like to eat it is steamed regardless of the other fried recipes out there. To me, if the seafood is fresh = alive and kicking when you purchased it, no point wasting good money to fry it. Frying is for less than fresh stuff or frozen stuff in my household.
Cooking this is so easy, almost kid's play.
Total Cooking time needed: 10mins.
Prep time: 10mins.
Ingredients:
1. The bugs, in this case I bought 4.
2. Spring onion - 5-6stalks
3. Ginger.
4. 6 LARGE cloves of garlic -(coz I love fried garlic)
5. Sugar
6. Fish sauce - 2 teaspoon
7. Light soy sauce - 3 teaspoon.
8. Chinese rice wine - 1 tablespoon
9. Oil for frying garlic - 2 teaspoon. (Am using coconut oil. extra light olive oil is fine)
10. 1 chili - big or 2 small type really doesnt matter after they are deseeded and rinse.
Pre-cooking Steps:
1. Chopped the buggers into half or get the fishmonger to do it for you.
2. Washed out the veins and the nasty brain blob connected at the head if they are still there.
3. Optional: I like to use a toothbrush to give the shell a good scrub thorough. I think its good to clean the loose surface dirt away.
4. After rinse, pat dry with paper towel and line them flat on steam plate.
Garnish & sauce Prep Steps: (you can do this while the bugs are steaming)
1. Sliced then Chop the garlics into coarse bits.
2. Sliced then chop the deseeded chilli into coarse bits. (Make sure they are deseeded prior else it will be really spicy)
3. Heat oil and fry the garlic+ chilli mix until garlic is browned.
remove from oil and leave to cool on the side with paper towel to absorb excess oil.
4. Remove excess used frying oil from pot until about 1 teaspoon amount is left in the pot.
5. Mix soy sauce, fish sauce & 2 teaspoon of sugar into a small bowl.
Cooking Steps:
1. Slice ginger in 8 thin pieces. Lay them slice on top of the halves of the bugs.
2. Slice a few more thicker slices and randomly place them around the place. Basically ginger reduce any "fishness"
3. Take 2-3 thick stalks of the washed spring onion and roughly chop them into halves. We want the lower part with the bulb (root end). slice them into halves and lay them randomly onto the steam plate with the bugs.
4. Drizzle the chinese rice wine onto the bugs.
5. Steamed the bugs for 10 mins (over boiling water if using wok).
6. After the bugs are steamed, pour some of the "juice" from the steamed plate into the sauce mix.
Amount doesnt matter, its up to you but i normally use only 2-3 tablespoon worth. the rest discard.
7. Stir well the sauce and taste if its too salty, if it is, pour more water or add more sugar to taste.

Mid week ranting
I should be studying for my test tomorrow but I just cannot seem to get into the mood. So I am drifting between notes, tv, games, and now blog.
Of course primarily I m blogging because I just wanted to wonder aloud, why are some people just so "negative" about themselves. Before they even start to do anything, they lament about "oh I will surely fail..oh it will be a miracle if I pass" etc before they even try!! It is soooooo freaking annoying to hang around such low morale people.
Of course there is only one person in my class who does this. miss tardy who else.
I missed the last lesson BECAUSE I HAVE to go back to australia for family obligations. Even so, I made sure Sensei passed me the notes on my second last lesson so that I can try to fill the gap by myself.
Miss Tardy with all the time that she has, instead not only choose to skip the last lesson, but also to turn around And try to excuse herself by saying she didn't attend the lessons so she will fail. Hello, u will fail because u r LAZY. That's all to it. If I miss more lessons than u and don't even think about if I will fail, then I hate it even more when a lazy bum like u, or face saving idiot like u try to make it sound like u will fail but I know u are secretly studying like mad so that it will look as if "u pass easily" because u are so "smart".
Why are there such people in this world? Whether u study anot is frankly none of my business since I am not paying for your self education. U want to waste your money, waste your time, it really is your life u r wasting. However, kindly very much refrain from spreading your negative chi to me. What do u expect me to say? U poor thing? Stupid girl...when will u wake up to the fact that u have no one else to account to but yourself? With all the excuses u give, you are only failing yourself. We will just leave u behind that's all. U stupid, stupid girl.
What also annoys me was, she even asked me for notes. U are too lazy to go class and expect me to hand u MY notes which I compiled and arranged to receive from Sensei, to you on a silver platter? U think I am a fool or stupid idiot? Normally I won't mind sharing with an equally sharing and diligent classmate. However, since u are just in for the free ride, plus u ungrateful bitch didn't even pass me the notes the last time I asked u for lessons I missed or u gave me blank notes, so how about no notes either for u? U reap what u sow baby.
It prob all sound very petty. Yeah so what. At least I feel good about it. I don't like being cheated on and leeched on by ingrates. Ingrates are worse than liars to me. I always believe in returning the favor. So how u want me to treat you will depend on how u treat me in return.
So the gist of the rant, I replied her "no hand out notes for last lesson for new grammar. Refer to text." which is the truth, except that I didn't tell her there was only hand out for new vocab, but then again, those vocals ARE truly from the text. So I didn't lie to her either. She is so lazy that she porb won't even look at the new vocals anyway. However, I did send one one picture of the last 2 grammars we learnt. See, at least I m not evil. I won't lie to u, but that doesn't mean I have to give u everything I have either.u didn't deserve it.
After the test tomorrow, we are supposed to go visit the new born mum and baby, quite frankly, I am not all that keen but ok. I didn't even know why I had to treat her to lunch the other day but since the group suggested it, I couldn't jolly well say no. She had a baby, it's not like it's her birthday. Actually I am just bitching because we are not real frens, so I feel like I am throwing money at a stranger who just gave birth. I don't print money, and even if I do, I don't feel oblige to throw money at material show off who brags about using hk$100,000 bed sheets. That is about $20,000 Singapore dollars. Yes that is for ONE SET of bed sheets, not all the bed sheets combined. yes, one of the reason why I don't exactly click with the Taiwanese new born mum is because she is a brand snob and status snob. Why should I care if u are member of HK jockey club? It's not even your own merit, u are riding on the coat tail of your in laws anyway. Nothing to be smug about. Really, some people Really need material and status stuff to validate their self-importance.
The whole visitation thing is as usual spearheaded by miss useless Tardy who only ask "are we eating lunch?" and expect the thing to ball roll itself. The other HK gal cannot take it and took over from her and everyone else replied. See the difference? A loser vs a competent person. I just stay clear from it all and gave a yes, no answer. Save me from getting sucked in, but most of all, I don't want to be seen online a lot or ms Tardy will bound to ask me questions about jap stuff. So rather than have to teach her, I rather avoid her. So far so good! Staying away is working out supremely well! Heh!

Bye Bye Ms Tardy
OMG! Hurray!!!
Finally a message worth celebrating!! Ms Tardy has suddenly announced that she had decided to quit class after this module end!
Unsurprisingly, she came up with all sort of shit excuse saying that "her health" issues and so she had to put her studies on hold. Errr...you mean your laziness got the better of you?!
She claimed that the fall that she suffered last year is sooooooo bad that it had resulted in her structural issue. Errr...she merely tripped over a curb and suffered scratches and that was like 1 year ago? I was there when she fell and it didnt look that serious and she certainly did not complain about it all these while, and suddenly this week the problem suddenly surfaced with such dire consequences? Cannot help but be suspicious about her claim just around this period now that I decided NOT to let her leech on me? And that the other classmates didnt want her to leech on to? I suppose she wants to wait a year and rejoin the class with the new born mum that she has been sucking up to. Good, you two deserve each other!
Regardless, while I hope sincerely nothing too bad happened to her. If it is true, I certainly hoped that she will recover well.
I am sure glad that I am free!!! No more having to worry about having to partner a slacker anymore!! Fantastic!! I knew sooner or later she will give up when she realised she is too far behind the rest of the class but this soon is like striking lottery!
Goes to show...it isnt me who have no confidence in her. Even she herself knows where she stands. Amen.

Amen.

Fruits in season....nectarine
Apart from lychee season, its also nectarine season too!
Had a very good week of US nectarines! Been slurping them up non stop!!
Kinda expensive at $HK34 for two from city super but I am not complaining!
wah pianz...it takes over a week for a moron to book a simple lunch.
How many days does it take a moron to organise a simple lunch date? More than a week and still not settled.
She kept asking us what food and where. I replied, just ask the new born mum, she can decide and we will follow. Moron then said, new born mum said anything, let us decide. Are u fucking stupid, I already just told u we will go with the flow! I "LUN" (control), so I didnt reply to her stupid post. Another HK gal instead replied on my behalf and repeated "Let new born mum decide, we eat anything." Moron wrote back "She suggested japanese. So How."
U fucking moron.
I replied. "Ok. Go ahead and book."
Moron replied
"New born mum says u guys decide where."
WTF WTF WTF WTF
I "LUN" dont reply. I really want to sit this one out.
Super "PEK Chiat" liao (beyond Fed up)
The other HK girl reply again "We are fine with anything."
At this point I already buay tahan this moron organisation skill. I need you to ORGANISE and NOT be a fucking voice message rely idiot.
Finally, new born mum suggested something. Moron asked us if ok.
We said ok. Then Moron wrote back and said "Oh the place is full, so how we need to pick again." I though she finally show some common sense to let us pick 2 jap place when she include the links but when i click, fucker only gave a link to a page full of various jap places in CWB..hello, isnt this as good as we doing the job for u?
No one bothered to reply her.
Then today she wrote, new born mum suggested a Thai place.
I replied "Ok."
Moron repled. "I am ok too. how about others leh?"
I really sipeh sipeh sipeh buay tahan so had to tell her off liao.
"Why dont you just go ahead and BOOK the place FIRST and then if later cannot, then we cancel lah. Else wait and wait like forever and you wont get a table in the end."
Moron replied
"Oh ya GOOD idea!"
Yes you fuckwit. It's not good idea, it fucking COMMON SENSE.
This moron really sipeh sipeh jialat. Gone case.
Old people always describe people like this "Mo Nao" (No Brain)...
Work with this kind of people really "vomit blood"... the brain so "thum bye".
really "ha-base" gone case.

Taiwanese style braised pork
Made Taiwanese style soy braised pork tonight. This is one of my favorite because it is so easy to make, short time taken and yummy to eat with rice.
Ingredients
1. Collar (neck) pork.
2. Fresh Chinese/Japanese Mushrooms - (amount subjective, at least 4 will be nice)
3. Carrot strips (amount subjective - usually half a carrot will do)
4. 4 big Garlic cloves - coarsely chopped
5. Dark Soy Sauce (Using Taiwanese Kim Lan brand) (老抽/黑酱油)
7. Rock Sugar & fine sugar
8. Wu Siang Fen - 1 tsp
9. Fried Onion Shallots - 2 tbsp.
10. Oil for frying (am using coconut or olive oil)
11. Red dates, deseeded.
Prepare sauce
1. Mix 1/2 cup of soy sauce with 1/3 cup Soy paste (you can lessen the portion. I dont even rem if its 1/2 cup coz I do a visual estimate)
2. Mix in the Wu Siang Fen
3. Put in 1 tsp of brown/white sugar and 5 small rock crystal cube sugar.
4. Pour in 2 cup of water
Steps
1. Cut the pork into cube or slice bite size.
2. Heat 2 Tbsp of oil. Stir fry chopped garlic until just light brown, throw in the pork and fry together till pork is cooked in wok. About 5mins.
3. Pour in prepared sauce. Lower to medium flame. Cover lid for 5mins and stir.
Optional: (4. If you have earthen pot or those ceramic pot, it is best to use them over metal wok to gives tenderise the meat as it absorb the flavour. However if you have none, you can still use wok. Transfer from wok to earthen pot if you can. Cover lid.)
5. Mix in the fried Onion Shallots. Estimate 2 tbsp or more if you like.
6. Mix in mushroom strips & the 2 red dates.
7. taste the sauce, if too salty, add more water.
8. Cover and simmer over low flame for 15mins.
9. Add carrot strips now. Taste the sauce. if it is still not sweet, add a few more cube rock sugar or you can wait till after you add carrot to decide. (carrots will also sweeten the sauce) .
Soy sauce gets saltier when cook over time, so add more water if necessary. it's subjective so I wont indicate how much to pour in.
10. Cover simmer till meat is tender. Generally another 10-15mins give or take.
Dinner is served.
Weekly update on Ms Tardy again!
wah lao....simeh buay tahan...how can someone be so freaking uesless?
I think Ms Tardy has picked up my negative vibes to stay away BUT....
On Wednesday, she was late for class again (what's new) and came in when sensei was halfway explaining a new grammar and asking us to form sentences. When she took her seat next to me, I was replying sensei so I didnt have to make any eye contacts with her. As usual, she didnt even say thanks to me for taking her notes for her & place it on her seat. I honestly dont know why she bothered to come to class if she is going to miss half the lecture?
As I had made up my mind to stop her leeching on me in class, she was completely lost in class on Wed. When it was her turn to make her own sentence, she faltered, looked at sensei blankly. Even when sensei was telling her the answer, Ms Tardy just couldnt heck it and kept turning around asking in cantonese "What? what?" As sensei was focused on her, and trying to explain to her, Ms Tardy instead of trying to understand what was being explained, was more concerned about not looking stupid in class by turning to the guy seated few seats away from her for help. The guy wasnt very sure himself and finally Ms tardy lost it and had her first mini-outburst exclaiming in Cantonese in exasperated tone "I dont even know what the hell she (teacher) is talking about!" Yeah great, like throwing tantrum is going to get you marks. I didnt even care enough to sniggle because she really is a dead weight. I need to get away from her!!!
After the class, I scooted off my seat to ask Sensei advice on my assignment and Ms Tardy just causally said to me "Oh I cannot do lunch with you today." I replied her"Oh ok, I cannot do lunch with u either." Secretly I was thanking my lucky stars!!!
Then back to her sucking up to the new born mum. She was trying to "organise" the visit and of course, her fuckup organising got us no where and so another girl replied to the thread and suggested that since the 4 of us are busy next week and have to leave by 2pm, she proposed we should postpone the visit and just have lunch with the new born mother. I replied to the thread and said agreed. Meanwhile I directed to Ms Tardy aka "Ms Organisor" to ensure she go book a place else last minute, no way we can secure a table during peak lunch hour.
Ms Tardy, instead of refering to the thread and count the number of headcount with her fingers, fucking useless pig head instead post "Err...for how many people." You stupid or what, how many people in the class??? This question is insulting her intelligence that I dont even want to answer. Dont want to waste my breath on a person who dont even have basic skills on arranging a SIMPLE lunch. Every time I organise, did i once ask YOU how many people? I mean why do you need people to prompt u or tell u what to do?

緋色の欠片animeのOP: 「ねぇ」
While watching the new anime series 「緋色の欠片」, I too fell in love with the opening track 『ねぇ』.この歌が大好き!
I think it's a beautiful track with pretty nice lyrics.
So far the anime has been pretty good, bordering between supernatural fighting against the "forgotten gods turn demon" plot & love theme somewhere along the line I think. Well, the romance part is gathered from the opening track of course.
藤田麻衣子 - ねぇ[DL]
緋色の欠片OP
ねぇ 君は 今だれを 想っているの?
(Hey, who are you thinking of this moment?)
私は君を 想っているよ
(I'm so thinking of you)
窓を開けると感じた
(I can feel it when I opened the window)
Ah 夜のにおい
(ah the scent of the night)
今だれの顔が
心の中に浮かんだ?
(Right now, who are you thinking of now/ whose face is in your mind now)
冷たい 雨ずぶ濡れに
なってた 私に
(As I get soaked through in the cold rain)
君だけがその手を
(Only your hands reached out to me)
なぜいつも 君なんだろう
(Why does it always seemed to be you)
支えてくれる人は
(the one to be supporting me)
そのたび
(In every moment such as this)
また好きになっていく
(I am falling for you again)
ねぇ 何しても 君に会いたくなるよ
(Hey, I want to see you again no matter what I do)
好きになるって 苦しいんだね
( Even when I am suffering from being in love)
嬉しくなるのも 切なくさせるのも
(Happiness or misery)
いつでも 理由は 君だけだよ
(No matter when, you are always the reason for being so)
(With an indifferent attitude again)
今日が過ぎていく
(Today passes by)
本当は嫌になるくらい
(I reallly hate it this way)
君が気になるのに
(For I really care about you)
どうして好きな人に
(Why is it so hard to be honest to the person that one likes)
いつでも
(No matter when)
(I'm trapped in my loneliness)
ねぇ気づいてほしいよ
(Hey, I really want you to notice)
平気だよって
伝える時ほど泣いてること
(That when I said 「I am fine」, I was crying inside. )
見上げた 夜空
(As I looked up into the nite sky)
星が 綺麗なだけで
(Where the beautiful stars are)
ここに 君がいてくれたらって
(It was here that you said I wish for you to be here)
そばにいられたなら
(For you to be here by my side)
ねぇ 君は今だれを 想っているの?
(Hey, who are you thinking of right now?)
(Why can't I control this feeling that is overwhelming me?)
ねぇ 何しても 君に会いたくなるよ
好きになるって 苦しいんだね
嬉しくなるのも 切なくさせるのも
いつでも 理由は 君だけだよ
今君を 想ってるよ
(Right now, I am thinking of you)
ねぇ会いたいよ

No title.
Finally my man is coming home from his long trip and I can have someone to whine to again! Life is so boring without my hubby, coz there is no one at home for me to make them squeal with my relentless poking and bullying. Hohoho.
After sleeping mostly for 2 weeks, it's time to slowly awake from my hibernation mode. How can one sleep so much? I dunno. It has got to be genes.
Ex-bf text me today asking if I am feeling better. He texted me the other day just to tell me he was back in Sg and heading back to China and I happened to tell him I am sick. It's kinda funny actually if I looked back at our past messages. It's always about "where we are now." "Where are you" "sick" "at the airport".
Anycase, today he text me that he is back in Sg for his mum's prayers. Again, no idea why he want to tell me that but oh ok. So I just text him back "Good boy." I mean, what else can I say right? I cannot say say a prayer on behalf right? he replied back "good boy? Funny. Monk made me do everything..."
Anycase, during my trip back to Sg, I told my mum that my exbf's mum has passed away. She was shocked. I mean come on, who wont be shocked?
Then during one of the car ride, I cannot remember what my brother and I were talking about, i think its about relationship and so i told him about the death of my exbf's mum as well. He was equally surprised. I think he was more surprised that the two of us were even talking? For some reason, I think my brother thought I hated my ex to death, but it couldnt be further than the truth. Strangely much that I was angry for a short while but sadder for a longer, but I dont think I am very capable of really hating someone. I can ignore someone but hating? That's so not me unless u tell me pissed off at someone is the same as hating?
I didnt see a point in harboring anger or hatred over something like emotions. Like I told my mum, regardless what happened, I did had a great time together. In many ways than not, he did more than what my own father ever did for me. He taught me to swim, his dad paid for our tennis lessons, and frankly when we went travelling to Europe, I am sure his parents had given him some allowances. And when it was my bro's wedding, he tried to help out etc. So to me, he wasnt all that bad. In every relationship, there is give and take. At least with him, I had learnt many things and through the relationship breakup, I too realised many important lessons about relationships. Not to mention, living a life without a baggage is way much better than having to "avoid" people in life.
Incidentally, I bumped into one of his old bestfren and his wife while I was in Sg. They were actually the other couple whom we hung out with alot back then. I havent seen them since the breakup in states and my last conversation with his fren was "How could u know and not tell me?" I suppose that was why when he saw me, the look of shock and surprised was blatantly registered all over. He was obviously speechless and didnt know what to say. In turn, that made me kinda speechless too.
The wife was a bitch as before but I really dont want to waste my breath on her. It was suffice to say that her husband was equally appalled by her lack of tact and grace. I didnt want to be rude and tell her how unfortunate that their kids looked more like her than her Chinese husband.
Anycase, it was a short 2-3mins hi-bye but felt longer than that. It's strange that it wasnt even that awkward when I last had a meal with my ex. Maybe because he didnt know that my ex and I had mended our friendship since he himself is no longer in touch with my ex. So he didnt quite know what to say.
This is really one hell of a "bump into" that felt a not so sweet taste in my mouth for no conceivable reasons. And for reasons unknown, the meeting brought this song to mind...

The beauty about Singaporean speech? Only my fellow local countryman can read and understand it.
I posted my FB status last nite. Never expect any response or people understood my Hokkien malay rojak and probto non-singaporean, this seemed very gibberish! heh heh heh.. I feel so at home already. Launguage is such a powerful medium. It draws people closer together instantly. Quite funny that my fren commented that I havent lost my Hokkien roots. Seriously, how to forget my first mother tongue that I learn to curse in? Come to think of it, I do miss speaking Hokkien. It's so raw and crude but straight to the point...hahahaa
FB status, venting off steam.
"I really want to KaoPeh about this very KNS eh lang. Super the KiamPah Jialat. Really See peh see peh BuaySong BuayTahan! Dah-bai bedek bedek bah.bodoh, tang lang Keoh Sai. Bin-Pei Sibei Gao . Go Fk spider lah!"
