Mum was pleasantly surprised that unlike some strange Singaporeans who like to linger or deliberately would not get up from tables; Hk people do NOT hog the table after finishing the meal at small dining spots. There is a level of social consideration in this country to finish the meal, pay and leave. Will Singapore ever attain such social grace?

I just saw. People squeezing or hurrying their kid to finish their food so that others will get a chance at East Coast Lagoon hawker~

not just my mum...my frens and myself meet these selfish folks aplenty from tampines to AMK to Yio chu kanf. My gf just encountered a bunch of gossiping aunties hogging table at lunch peak hour ignoring everyone looking for tables at Amoy hawker... u are just lucky...haaaa
Try the new towns like Punggol where the average age is lower or expat districts. You'll be surprised that many Chinese expats are more courteous than our own fellow citizens... Sighz...
