Welcome Back. It seems we go on holiday around the same time, but some how not together. Writing my witterings about my latest sunburning adventures as we speak.

Like a bit of Hopkins, he can be a good actor. Fracture, Joe Black, Bounty and all those classic type stuff. Hanibal never did it for me and I~m not sure Wolfman will do it either.

Thanks! I see that I aint the only one gallavating round the world at this time of the year! So where did u go? My sun burnt has started to peel despite my best efforts of slapping all the cream...well at least its not patchy *relief* Hope yours is better:)

Yeah I agree! Hopkins can be really good. I like him with his ever changing expressions which doesnt border on overdramatic (like alpacino), hence making him a pretty controlled actor who delivers the emotions well. I love him in Fracture and Joe black, yeah hanibal wasnt exactly my fav but that is to do more with the script than his acting.

I like to see how they will take wolfman. I am a supernatural fan, so i am a sucker for movies like that with GREAT exception to Twilight (which I cannot comprehend the interest and hype...for such mediocre acting and plot...sigh...I must be getting rrrrreal old...)

I started to peel around the 3rd day. Those clouds fooled me :-). Went back to Thailand again,(link via my profile) started my long drawn out witterings (with pics).

Movies, it is probably the theme, horror-fantasy, that I just don`t like or think I don`t like. They do nothing for me, although saying that I`ll contradict myself with liking Underworld.

I think you touched on it, no matter what the genre, Actors, scrips, direction when they all come together the movie just works. Never seen a good movie (that I can remember) with Nicholas cage, the exception "Leaving Las Vegas" where it all worked.

Yeah nicholas cage has been in a series of really crap movies esp the ghost rider... I cringed soo much even when watching it on the plane...and a repeat telecast on the Tv didnt improve the review... However, to give him some respite, i did enjoy "the rock", "the family man" and "national treasure" though the credit wasnt due to his acting...

The singular actress I couldnt stand is nicole kidman. She is soo blah on and off screen. I have not liked a SINGLE film she has been in. I just cannot comprehend how she rose to be A-list celeb apart from being former Mrs Cruise.... Now she is just Ms hypocrite fake botox face to me.

The one actor that I think highly off apart from hopkins is Sean connery...they just get better and better like vintage wine...

"The Rock" I can`t believe you actually liked that. Sean, my fellow Scot, has a big presence but I don`t think he is a great actor. Had a look at his list of movie on IMDB and really only a few stick out from my recollections.

As for females. I am really at a blank there to come up with some greats. Maybe they are too good in their performances to be remembered by name.

well... I did watch "The rock" in my younger days where my movie "taste" was less discerning. haaaa:)

I dunno. Maybe its Sean's deep voice and a natural on screen charisma that charm me. Granted he didnt have any oscar winning works I can rem :P Then again, all great actors have to do few crappy movies in their movire career I suppose, after all acting is to make a living. At least he isnt just a pretty face compared to current days celeb...

Some People thinks Brad pitt is a great actor, but I think he is not. He carries that same few expression in every movie. When I watched "Curious case of BB", his expressions are the same in Meet joe Black, and legends...they never really change much... He only fare marginally better than Tom cruise.

Female actress...hmmm...u are rite there. they aint great on the whole. more trashy lot than not. But I dont mind natalie Portman and reese witherspoon and renee w. Maybe that's just because they are one of the few stars that stand grounded and really kept out of tabloid news or the great Sun "paper". Oh, I thot Dakota Fanning has great potential. No?
