Bad australia service - Big Pond. (Part 4)

If you are ever signed up with Big Pond (Telstra) for their cable internet, you just pray you never ever have to deal with the almost non existent customer service.

I am not sure if their technical hotline is suppose to be 24/7hrs service. If it is, let me assure you it is a lie. I doubt there is anyone manning the lines after 6pm.

One weekend at 8.30pm, my internet cable connection suddenly dropped and lost. We couldnt get on line for at least 40mins. So I tried calling big pond technical line to find out if there was a network failure and how long it will take.

I called and waited for 45mins, and I got to speak to no one. All I got was an earful of music.
Twice it occured and twice no one ever picks up the line at night. I tried calling the sales line and someone pick up (since its revenue incoming) and of course the guy said he knew nothing nor if there is anyone in the tech dept. This has never happen in Singapore nor HK. The max wait was like 10mins tops.

All these business cost cutting is really not helping. I wonder how can other local people stand it?

Ridiculous policies (Sydney - Part 3)

There is something I do not quite understand about all these Australian Accounts with the water, gas, telstra etc.

I tried to arrange for disconnection on behalf of my husband and I was told I couldnt do anything as the account name was under him. Its very strange since I never had such denial in SIngapore and HK before. I was able to arrange every thing nicely in HK on behalf, and arrange for people to pick up the cable modem etc without a hitch so long I was able to provide the ID number, account number and DOB, as well as a signed letter that signify the termination later after the call.

In Sydney, I tried to enquire if there was any deposits that we need to settle before we leave town and again, the customer services told me they could not reveal that fact as I am not the account holder.

It is all very frustrating. It's like I am not asking how much it is, I am asking for the procedure and they wont even bother to tell me. I really do not understand all these obstacles and checks. The deposit will go back to the account owner anycase and I wont be able to get it in cash, so what's this sense of FALSE Security? And as if I want to cheat that few couple of bucks. Stupid rile. So in the end, my husband had to go through all the loops and waits to do all the termination himself and waste more time on these nitty gritties.

I just think there are alot of wasted and unnecessary and inefficient procedures built in. Is it that difficult to spend 5mins to explain the procedures to me? damn it.

One bad service after another in Australia (Part 2)

Over the weekend, we headed to newcastle being my father in law's birthday. He had requested for a new TV as his present and so my husband and I headed out to the stores to hunt for a 42inch plasma. Our car couldnt fit the box if we had bought it in Sydney so off we go again upon arrival at my in laws place after lunch.

We finally landed ourselves in JB-Hi Fi and since Pioneer no longer produce 42inch plasma, we decide to settle for Panasonic plasma instead as a 50inch TV would be ridiculous. The sales guy told us that Pioneer no longer produce anything lesser than 50inch from now on due to large share market.

Since it was cheaper than Pioneer with simialr qualities, we got the Panasonic and everyone at home was happy that night as all the men at home get to watch the Rugby match Oz vs France at 8.30pm.

However the next morning, we discovered something was wrong with the AV as all the images were whitewashed and snowy. It definitely cannot be our new Panasonic HDD DVD recorder which worked perfectly with the old TV. We tried calling JB Hifi if they are aware of the problems and what are our recourse and of course, they said they promise to call us back after checking and never did after 2 hours.

My husband and I drove down and see if we can get an exchange. This young chap tried to serve us and of course when we mention the problem, he didnt know nuts about it. It's ok since he's a sales and not a technical person, but he said we didnt need any HDCMI cable for sure. Ok so we drove back all the way again with nothing.

Then I enquire about the box not coming with any RCA (the yellow white cables) and the young chap said "Oh the plasma box does not come with any cables since it is supposed to be replacement TV. You need to buy new ones if u need it"

I was stumped. What? a new TV with no cables? This is the FIRST TIME EVER i have heard of anyone spewing such nonsense. I have bought 2 plasma previously in Singapore and even a new Samsung LCD when we got to Sydney and we had never heard of such a statement. So if I am moving to a new home without an old TV, I have to fork out more $$$ for TV cables???? This is absolutely ridiculous!

I do not know if the young sales guy is speaking the truth. I am not sure if its Panansonic worldwide policy not to provide cables, or only in Australia products that doesnt, or the sales guy is just uttering rubbish. I need to get back to HK and ask a TV sales guy to find out.

So now we had to get our brother in law to drive it back and swop for a new one. It was after much haggling and hassling before the customer service agreed to get someone at the JB store to arrange for truck delivery to deliver the exchange TV from another branch to the one near our place. Crazy people if they think I am doing the drive when it wont even fit into my rented car!

One hassles after another... sigh. Not once is anything smooth sailing in Sydney. Not bloody once.

One bad experience after another with Australian service ...

In a way, I am really glad to leave the lousy Australian retail service behind. It has been appalling since I arrived, and it still begs for heaps of improvement now that I am leaving. After my last bad experience with Electrolux customer service who almost sent me the wrong washer transit bolt, here's more cases to top up my list of horrific bad experiences.

Case 1. Mountain Design Ski jacket.
We went shopping the sunday before and got myself a brand new white ski jacket which I had really liked. When I got home, I discovered with dismay on Tuesday that the ski zip was defective. It was stuck and couldnt be tugged free. So I brought it back to the shop on Thursday being late night shopping for an exchange. However because they didnt have anymore on stock, so the guy on duty Steve told me to try it on again as he apparently wasnt so convinced it was defective zip.

I put it on just to show him again the problem I had before he finally accepted the plain fact it was defective. So he called the Chatswood branch to send a new one over. He promised me it will arrived on Monday and he will call me up to pick the jacket. Initially I had wanted a refund since it was defective and I didnt want the hassle of waiting and going back to Bondi Junction, but Steve looked pretty hesitant and told me it will be difficult as they need to send the defective ski back to Brisbane for verification etc. Since I did like that jacket, I guess I could wait till Monday before i Leave Sydney end of the week (which I informe Steve).

Before I left, I asked him if he will be on duty on Monday before deciding to leave my jacket with him. He ASSURED me he will be on duty on Monday.

So here comes monday, I still didnt get any call from Mountain design. I popped in the store in the late afternoon and well, Steve WASNT on duty and neither did he get anyone to followup on his behalf. So No steve, NO jacket. Fucking piss.

I asked the stand in guy about it and he checked and told me to come back tomorrow. Ok fine. One wasted trip. I just do not understand why the retailer staff has so little ownership to their job, as well as a bunch of people whose worths and promises are as worthless as Zimbabwe current currency. Even my toilet rolls are of better worth than their words.

I asked about the refund policy and apparently I CAN get refund since it is a defective product although the stand in guy was very hesitant to say much as he keep saying he wasnt from this branch. My question to him, "What is YOUR COMPANY's POLICY?" It shouldnt matter what branch isnt it? A refund policy should cut across ALL BRANCHES. So i hate it when these people try to screw me around with a bunch of bull. Do they think I am illiterate or ignorant or what? I just about had it with service here. It is moments like this which I wonder if I get all these shit because I am Asian and not white.

So tomorrow I shall see what happens. I honestly wonder, if some of these australians knows what "service" entails.

Last friends SP Episode

Been so busy that I didnt watch the final "Last Friends SP" shown till now.

Actually there isnt much to write about this SP episode. It is not a new episode but rather a condensation of all the series highlights for each character.

The episode started off with all the housemates taking a picture with the baby. Then Eri and her husband Ogurin returned from Italy to Japan after a year. The interior of the house has changed alittle with more colourful cushions and new sofa cover. Takeru told Eri Michiru has gone to cemetry as it was Sousuke's first year anniversary. At the cemetry unknown to Michiru, the little boy that Sousuke had once saved also came to visit him (although I am not sure how come the kid is so resourceful to know since Michiru would not have known him and his case was closed before Sousuke died).

Ogurin went to Michiru old salon for haircut as he didnt dare to cut his hair in Italy due to language barrier. The colleague who used to bully Michiru was his hairstylist. Ogurin enquire about her eye bruise and she openly confirmed her boyfriend hit her over a trival incident of overtaping his show. Ogurin asked if she would considered leaving her boyfriend but she said she wont over such a small matter. To which Ogurin yelled "It's not a small matter!" The hair stylist mentioned about michiru (as a third person). "There was a girl who used to work her. Her boyfriend would wait for her to get off work everyday. Her boyfriend isn’t like mine, he cherishes her. I didn’t treat her too well then as I was jealous of her.” Ogura said nothing to that. The salon owner overheard and told her not to mention such things to the customer and she stopped.

Back at home, Eri was with Michiru’s little girl while Takeru was at the sink. The phone rang which Takeru answered. “Takeru, how are you?” Hearing his sister's voice, Takeru hesitated and paused before answering, “I have a family now. I thought I would never forgive you. But right now, I’m living with people I love which is a world foreign to you. So, I can forgive you now. Remember to be happy yourself.” Surprised at his words, Takeru’s shocked sister nodded firmly and both hung up.

Ruka returned home, Takeru handed and reunite Eri and Ogura with their old cups.

Ruka:
Family, Friends, Spouses, Lovers, having all four of the relationships but belonging to none in particular. We live on, treasuring and cherishing this fragile happiness...
Takeru:

We will always be friends. If it’s possible, we’ll never be apart. Even if we part, we’ll greet each other with a smile when we meet again somewhere in this world.

Everyone:
My dear friends, you are my last friends.

Finished!

This final episode took me the longest to finish the recap! I cannot believe its 4.30am now! Been staring at the computer for last 2 hours! No wonder my back is aching! Sounds stupid but it is actually quite satisfying now that the drama has ended. Felt like I have delivered my "mini project" sucessfully!

Wanted to do a poll to find out if the general viewers preferred Last friends over Zettai Kareshi, but then figured it was pointless since most the readers are mostly here for Zettai Kareshi reviews... Noticed the surge in the traffic every wednesday :P I was so shocked when I saw the total hits the other day when I was at my own blog. So I am assuming that my recaps have been relatively well received... Hoo hooo hoooo...

Trying to finish Kurosaki drama but somehow the plot isnt very captivating. I guess the swindlers are pretty predictable and there wasnt much surprise element. Only up to episode 7 and I still havent been impressed....So I am going easy on myself with an episode a day.

Saw the next drama series about the police guy and he could see spirits? Is he a shinigami? The lead actor is a little too "cutesy" and "girlie" for my liking....such a little boy. His features are so fine and he lacked the manly and "X" factor.... wonder what the japanese girls see in him... Hmmmm....

Zettai Kareshi 11 Summary (Part2)

Back in Asamoto office, Soshi's brother questioned him on his trip to Paris alone. Soshi explained that it it would be good to train up himself up as a person, as well as preparing a good environment for talented people like Rikko who will come to train in future. His father smiled knowingly to himself. Night who was outside the office door overheard the whole conversation.

As his brother left the office, Soshi lamented outloud about his brother's stiff character to which, his father revealed the trurh of his brother seeking the favor for his and Rikko's Paris trip. His father further explained that Rikko's termination was only to make it easier for her to leave for Paris. "Like you, your brother also recognise the need to preserve the original taste. Like you, he too loved Asamoto." Once again, Soshi was left speechless at the realisation....

At the bar, the office staff organised a farewell party for Soshi. Mikka arrived and jokingly said that it was indeed Rikko's style to abandon Paris for Night. Night was who looking on, saw Soshi looking on smilingly at Rikko at near distance.

During the champagne bottle opening, Night saved a flying cork from hitting a colleague's face. At which, Night revealed he was a robot and Mikka hurriedly tried to cover it up saying it was a joke. However, Rikko said it was enough and told everyone the truth and everyone said it was impossible and that no one actually believed nor cared. With that Rikko smiled and said everyone loved Night.

While Rikko fell asleep, Soshi asked Night out for a quick chat. As they started to discuss about Rikko, Night said "i love her smile the best" Soshi said her smile could give one strength which Night agreed. "i will leave Rikko in your care." Soshi suddenly said. "I had once said that Soshi could not give Rikko happiness, I retract that statement now. Because Soshi also love Rikko as much as I do " Night solemnly said.

Hearing that, "I am defeated" Soshi laughed. They shook hands and wished each other well before Soshi took off. As Night looked on to the departing figure, he muttered a last goodbye to himself "Good bye Soshi san."

Back at the Bar, The bar owner laughed at Rikko's "face of happiness" and told Night it was all credit to Night that Rikko could maintain her smile all these while. "It is my happiness to give Rikko happiness." Night replied. Then he handed a letter to her to pass to Soshi later when he returned. As he said his thanks for all the trouble he had caused her, the bar lady laughed at him as if he is giving his final departing speech. Then she said seriously to him :"You are Rikko's best boyfriend."

As Night carried Rikko home, she woked up. Then Night said it was better for her to go to paris to fulfil her dream. Rikko replied: "Isnt this conversation ended sometime bck? I like to be with Night as you are my only boyfriend." Rikko asked him to let her down and presented a knitted scarf with his initial "N" sewn on to it. She explained it was a "thank you gift" (i think maybe she meant thanksgiving?) and Night laughed that it was too early. Rikko added on impulse that she would knit a glove, sweater, cap each in the subsequent years to come. After she said that, she sheepishly realised that Night would not feel the chill at all being a robot. However Night thanked her and said he is filled with warmth. Just as Rikko was wondering if they would see a shooting star, they caught one and Night quickly made a wish while Rikko pout that she didnt. Night said he did and that he wished for her to be happy forever. Rikko said she already was being with him.

When they got home, Night looked on at a sleeping Rikko and whispered "I love you." As he kissed her forehead, he said "I will always love you." As he looked on at a sound sleeping Rikko, He took the knitted scarf and left to meet Gaku to inform him of his body parts failing soon as the IC chip has been damanged beyond repair.

"Thank you for creating me" Night told a shocked and disbelieving Gaku. "Are you crying" Gaku asked in shock. "I am happy and lucky to be able to love Rikko" he said as he looked contendedly upon the sky.

As he looked at his scarf, smiling with last thoughts of Rikko, his screen died......

Back in the bar, the bar owner handed Soshi the letter from Night. Mystified, Soshi opened and read the unexpected content...

Next morning, Gaku arrived at Rikko's house who was wondering where Night had gone. To a puzzled Rikko, Gaku sadly said. "Night is not coming back and that he was happy to have met you.Zero one has stopped functioning." Rikko happily assumed that he could be repaired but Gaku said no. "Regretfully, he will not be able to move again. He looked for me late last night. Night probably doesnt want you to be sad."

As Gaku passed Rikko the remains - IC chip, he said "Night left you a message in his body. The chip normally should not be burnt till this degree but it is prob proof that he had tried his hardest for you. It is impossible to repair it anymore..." A shell shocked and speechless Rikko looked on at the screen at Night's last message for her.

" I am now waiting at the park for a date with Rikko. She is late and probably because she is dolling up for me. Rikko, I know I have said I would always stay by your side. I'm really sorry. I liked all of Rikko. A sound asleep with mouth wide open Rikko. An Angry Rikko. A laughing Rikko. A crying Rikko. Rikko who was making patisserie. A hardworking Rikko. I love all of them. You must move forward with confidence. Go to paris with Soshi san. Rikko will be fine. Don't cry! Rikko, remember to smile. Rikko's laughter will bring happiness to everyone. Rikko I will be watching over you from heaven above...always praying for Rikko's happiness." As Rikko watched the message, tears started to slip and fall. The video was made on the day they had gone dating. (comment: OMG, I want to cry on this part.....he knows he is "dying"....so sad...)

Soshi who had been standing outside the door, overheard Night's "last message"....

Rikko who was still reeling from shock asked herself regretfully why wasnt she able to be even more tender to Night. "I could have given him even more happy memories." she said.

Gaku consoled her that Night had felt very blissed from able to win her love and affections. "So for Night, please smile and lived on." he said to her. As Gaku was leaving, he saw Soshi and smiled understandingly to him. Rikko held on to the IC chip and called out to Night continuusly as she started to cry.

At this point, Soshi recalled Night's last letter. "If Rikko is crying, please stay by her side." Soshi san can definitely live on together with Rikko."

As Soshi walked towards the door and going for the door knob, he hesitated and stopped himself as he thought about Night's passing and Rikko's grief over the loss of a loved one...

3 weeks later, Rikko had packed up and preparing to leave for Paris. Her landlord told her that she will leave the unit for her incase Night return. "He is your boyfriend isnt he?" the landlady said to a shocked Rikko. "Anyone who had seen Night's smile will understand. It's obvious he likes you..." she said. Both ladies laughed.

Back at Kronos lab, Gaku thanked his boss for his understanding. Then he said to his manager.

" You use to said love is tragic. I disagree, love is the start of a miracle"

"You havent changed a bit." His manager looked at Gaku and smiled before leaving the room.

At the airport. Soshi brother began to nag at him to work hard and not cause trouble etc. Soshi laughed and replied "And more?!" His brother said "One more thing" before tearing up his resignation letter. Soshi laughed and commented that its his brother's style. Both brothers smiled knowingly as they had reached an understanding about how they really care for Asamoto and each other.

As the bar lady asked Rikko is she was alright, Rikko smiled and said that it was Night that enabled her to smile and lived on. Both Soshi and Rikko smiled at each other and left for Paris.

Back in the lab, Gaku rearranged the scarf for a lifeless Night. Before he left the room, Gaku looked and smiled at a peaceful looking Night and bade him goodbye.

"Zero one, have a sweet dream."

Zettai Kareshi Episode 11 Review (Part 1)

Zettai Kareshi 11 Summary (Part 1)

Following from last episode, Gaku (and subseuqently Rikko )arrived at the lab too late, only to witness with horror the initialisation button to reset Night being activated. Gaku was emotionally agitated, telling his colleague and manager that what they had just done was effectively murdering Night. However his colleague pushed Gaku away and insisted he was overexaggerating and that Night is only an appliance.

Gaku manager tried to convinced Rikko that it was better to dispose of Night based on his current condition but Rikko demanded him to return her Night to her. Just then, Gaku assistant noticed the irregularity and that the initialisation program had failed! Night at this moment removed his connecting head gear and sat up, looking at Rikko. Gaku told Night to RUN! while grabbed Rikko and made a escape dash. Gaku tried to hold the security back but ended up defeated on the ground. Night saw and returned to helped Gaku up. Rikko stopped the guards from taking Night away and demanded to know the reasons for their actions. Gaku manager explained they are only disposing a defective product as part of their responsibilities as professionals.

Gaku interrupted and said "We have oversimplified [Love]. In fact he is a robot but he has already developed his own awareness and lheart of ove and not something we can dispose off so easily" When his maanger angriled insisted that they could not let loose a dangerous robot, Rikko angrily retorted that Night was not dangerous!

"When i was in pain, he would stand by me and hug me. He would always encourage me to persist on when I was down and on verge of giving up my dreams! Compared to anyone here, Night has a heart which is purer and more cherishing than ours. Hence, I will definitely not return Night to you. No matter what, I will protect Night." as Rikko said and looked on lovingly at a surprised Night. In response to Rikko's speech, Gaku manager said that Night was not a the robot that they wanted and he would leave the final decision to Gaku before leaving.

Night asked Rikko isnt she going to Paris. Rikko smiled and said she just wanted to stay by Night's side. Gaku tried to increase the cooling system in Night but his condition did not change. Before he left, he told Rikko her love for Night has triumph and thus the initialisation failed. As Gaku left, he bumped into Soshi who had came to look for Rikko.

Soshi asked Rikko if she was abandoning her dreams by not leaving for Paris and that it is not easy to qualify for the competition. Rikko said "I want to withdraw." Soshi asked if it was due to Night but Rikko said no. She explained that whenever she was happy or sad, it was always Night by her side. Hence she apologised she will not go Paris and started to leave.

In frustration, Soshi finally burst out that only he can grow old with Rikko and that he can live on with her! "Even so, I still want to stay by Night's side." Rikko replied and left Soshi for Night who was waiting at home.

Soshi ended up at the bar to a surprised lady owner who thought he had gone to Paris. Soshi said there is nothing left.

Night apologised from causing Rikko's Paris trip. he thanked her for rushing over to the lab and that he was happy to be able to see her smile ago. "i will never forget anythign about you" Night said as he was holding her hand. Rikko leaned forward and kissed him, excusing that it was a goodnight kiss before shyly running out of the room.

Next morning, Night was up and cheerily telling Rikko her kiss had cured him! A surprised Gaku was shocked at the recovery and asked what had happened. Night tried to tell him about the kiss but Rikko flustered and stopped him. So instead gaku thought that they had both done the deed and congratulate them! Rikko quickly tried to explain the misunderstanding and explained it was only a kiss and Gaku laughed that it had to her love that did the trick! Jjust then, the landlady appeared and asked about the rice omelette that Night had lovingly prepared for Rikko. She exclaimed at the heartshaped which Rikko quickly lied and said "its a peach shape". Night protested and when the landlady started to eat the rice omelette, Night sink into exaggertaed despair and complained he had woke up early in the morning to prepare the meal with much efforts!! Rikko then struggled to grab the rice back!

Back in Asamoto office, Soshi brother questioned Soshi about his Paris decision in which Soshi declared it was none of his business! his brother angrily said despite Soshi resignation, he still saw him as Asamoto staff! Soshi went speechless. After much thought, he went back to the bar to resign and inform that he would proceed to Paris himself to train in the place where his grandfather had trained. "perhaps when Rikko joined me later, i could be of some help to her..." The bar lady smiled and said that Soshi did love Rikko afterall. As he was departing, Gaku arrived and Soshi asked for an explanation about Night. Gaku explained he was precisely here for that and told them about Night's self awareness and that inside his robotic body has miraculously developed Love emotions. He went on to share that both Night and Rikko now share a strong bond and no one has the right to take that away from them.

Later, the bar lady went to look for Rikko to inform her of Soshi decision and if she was firmed about her own decision. She warned about the future obstacles both will face and that it will not be the "normal" love that Rikko had craved for. Rikko smiled and replied "I want to live with Night from now on and I will not regret it no matter what we face in future."
"I support you. If you truly feel happy, then you can create a happy future." the bar lady told a happy Rikko.

At their date in a park (or somewhere), Rikko saw Night standing before a mirror and asked him what he was doing. Unknown to her, Night IC chip was flashing 53% operating capacity inside his visual screen. Night smiled and told her her smile is cute and that he loved her. At picnic, Rikko commented Night will not grow old but she would. Night said no matter if its 10, 20.30 or 100 years, he would always love her even when she grows old. Rikko laughed and said she would be died by then! Rikko said even in heaven she will protect Night and that they will always be together.

Back at home, Night asked if Rikko was happy and she happily exclamied so. being with him As his screen flashed 40%, Night grew sad as he knew he would not last long....Rikko spotted his sad look and asked if he was alright.
Night refrained from telling Rikko he truth but only said he would definitely not forget today. Rikko laughed and said he was over exaggertaing and Night questioned her instead if she would forget the day? She smiled and said they would make many more memories together to the extent that there will be no room to store the day they had together.
Night was so touched and he hugged her. ..

LUCKY! Final Epi is back!

Lucky! Lucky! Preservance paid off. I finally finished watching the final episode of Zettai Kareshi! Some of the Zettai kareshi final episode is back online. So watch it QUICK before they removed it again.

Since I am not hosting it, I do not know how long the video will be up for. here's the link to watch the raw episode without english subs. (just in case the english sub episode is banned from finding its way to the internet later.)

The 2 part links on Veoh are here.
Part 1
Part 2

Afterthoughts

While it was a little sad at some part at the expected ending, somehow I found the ending a little lacking as it seemed alittle rushed. Although most parts were accounted for, yet I found it a little dissatisfying that they took 10epi to build up Rikko's affection for night and then bring everything crashing down within the last 1 hour episode. I guess there really wasnt much else to shoot for a perfect robot boyfriend who finally found true love from a human.... I kinda prefer the manga ending, I thought it was more ..how to say...sentimental and lingering with Night making all the "arrangements" to prepare Rikko for his eventual departure.....

However, all in all, this drama is pretty good esp the tear jerker sections. I think I would rate it 7/10 for entertaintment value.

Zettai Kareshi Final Episode 11 is out!

Woke up late today and it's almost 2pm......... yeah decadent and disgusting I know....cannot be help since i stayed up till 5am+ to iron the remaining clothes to be stashed away, watched some DVD and spent some time to call my mum for her birthday. Seems like a very happy birthday for her this year :P

Anycase, Zettai Kareshi last episode is out! Hope I get to blog the recap today since I have to run a few errands. It's a good thing that it's the last episide this week since I am leaving the country next week! Checked the summer TV schedule, hmmm.. didnt see any good ones that looks good.

Well Code Blue is showing after this. I have always like medical drama, shall see if it is any good. At least there is one cute guy. One of the lead actor is the same guy who acted in as Kurosaki in the other Japanese drama.

Wonder what is happening this thursday to fill in the Last friends slot. Checked the online TV schedule and nothing was indicated...Hmmmm.....

ok better get going or I will never find time. So exciting... wonder what will happen to Night. While the manga has Rikko ending up with Soshi (the childhood friend version in manga), I cannot see how Rikko can swop from having emotions for Night now to suddenly going back to Soshi within one episode. Maybe there is season 2 though I hope not. We shall see after today!

For those who are keen to at least know what happen to Night...here's a quick spoiler for the first 10mins of the show before i write the full epi recap. Because there are people who doesnt want to know in advance, so I left it in white text. To read, please use your mouse to highlight over to show the spoiler.

[ Mouse over here this section for short spoiler >>Rikko managed to get to the lab but she was too late as the "reprogram" button has been activated. Just when Gaku and Rikko sink into emotional despair..they noticed something odd about the program. The PC screen alerted reprogramming could not be activated and it was suspended! We see Night removing the "head gear" and sat up. Gaku told him to run as he himself grabbed Rikko and made a dash for escape. After some "scuffle" and mini heartfelt outburst to his manager, Night and Rikko was allowed to go free. Soshi on the other hand approached Rikko and told her he knew about Night robot truth. Rikko told him she cannot go to Paris simply because she herself cannot do so, as she want to stay by Night side now as he had done for her when she was happy/ sad..... That night when Night was still having a temp, Rikko kissed Night! With that, Night's fever went down and he was well again mysteriously to everyone's delight! Later, Soshi learnt the truth about the paris invitation and he decided to go to Paris alone and admit "defeat" to Night. Rikko at the going away party told the rest the truth about Night being a robot but no one really minded nor believed... that is as far as my video clip was able to load. another 20mins more to go :P]

My Sydney Landlord and his mum

I like my landlord. He is a nice chap. However, his mother is another matter altogether.

I reckon when people get old, like 70++, they feel insecure and a need to be validated. It is understandable of course and I fully acknowlegde that feeling of not wanting to be "obselete". However, when it becomes an obsession, it becomes another thing altogether.

You see, previously we had informed our landlord verbally of our intention to vacate. Our lease expire at end of june but we wanted to extend it by couple of days to suit our relocation move. We promised to call him with an exact date and so few days later we rang his place up.

His mother picked up the phone and perhaps it was a lousy bad morning for her, she started screeching at us when we informed her that we like to speak to her son (who had always been our landlord Anthony and involved in tenancy dealind) about our date of departure. Firstly she was hard at hearing, and she screamed at us to speak "proper english" and not "rural rubbish accent" because she couldnt get the dates right and we repeated 5 times. We were stunned by her vicious condescending remarks of course. For one, both of us speak fluent english and for christ sake, I probably had better grammar and vocab capacity that she does and my husband is an true blue Sydney Australian himself. What the fk does she mean by "rural rubbish accent"? For one, people living in the rural are not rubbish ok! I thought that was pretty "discrimnative". It's a good thing she didnt say "chinese rubbish accent" or I would have been irate.
Anycase, we cast aside her rudeness and merely repeated the date "xx July" louder for her to make sure she heard us right. This time, she screamed at us again saying that we were very rude! Huh?!!! My husband assured her he wasnt except to reconfirm the date. She started ranting, saying that "I AM THE LANDLORD! I AM NOT OLD YOU KNOW, I CAN HEAR YOU VERY WELL! EVEN ANTHONY HAS TO LISTEN TO EVERYTHING I SAY! and Anothony is very busy and has no tme for you, you will speak to me on everything. I WILL call u back later" and she hung up abruptly.

My husband and I were shellshocked by her uncalled behaviour. We certainly didnt deserve any of the old bag's callous behaviour but because she is THAT OLD, we let it pass. No point fighting with a senior citizen. We just bitched alittle about her "sanity" between us at home and laughed it off.

Shortly 10mins later, our home phone rang and despite saying hello thrice, the caller kept quiet and hung up. My caller ID indicated it was our landlord number. Fine, now its prank call? We didnt bother to call back and 5 mins later, the landlord old mother called again and suddenly she was angelic and accomodating telling us the details to give her. Gheess......

So as instructed by her, we wrote a letter with departure details (I was gonna do it anyway without her telling me) and the next morning, my landlord rang our door. He said he had heard from his mother that we called. We told him the departure dates again and handed him the letter. Then he said "I will give you my mobile, please call me directly as my mother cannot remember a thing. she is too old now and she cannot handle anything anymore." We said fine. We didnt share our nasty experience with him, except when he left, my husband and I felt extremely sorry for him to live with his mum as such. It's no wonder he hasnt got married at his old age and probably never will until his mum dies i guess.... Its a pity, coz he is a really nice chap... too bad about the mum thumb he had to live under.....

Well, that's my gripe for now. Next time, I have to make sure my landlord is not some sour looney old bat. Otherwise, we will have a hard time.

My last few experience with Sydney Service

With every new move with new items, I learn something new.

Previously I had never moved with my washer and so I didnt know what was involved. Today while doing the premove survey quote, I found out that my Electrolux washing machine is suppose to come with a "Transport Kit - Transit Bolt" that has the pins that keep my Ergo front Loader tumbler in place during the move. Apparently the baboon delivery guys who sent the washer forgot to pass us that! So quickly today, I called the Electrolux customer care and was informed to pay an addtional A$13.50 for the bundle and A$9.55 for postage. I told the lady that I will confirm with my husband to ensure he didnt stash the bolts on his own and that I will call her back later.

Within 2 mins, I called back the customer care and got another lady. I explained the situation to her again, with the information her colleague had given me earlier. To my surprise, she quoted me a much higher price of A$22.95 for the kit, and the A$9.55 for the postage. I told her that the price was different from earlier but she said "I don't know what she quoted you and she is wrong. This is the right price." I was very skeptical and asked her if she is very sure that the bolt is the same for all models, since she never bothered to ask me for my washer model number.

She was alittle indignant and haughty and said that "IT IS THE SAME TRANSIT BOLTS" for the front loader and that its a 3 bundle kit. Since she sounded so confident and since she is afterall the brand's customer care, I placed the order since I didnt want to waste time hunting around not knowing what I should be buying.

After she got all my details, something was still nagging in my head and every cell in my body was screaming that something was not right. I just didnt trust her knowledge. So I causally asked her again "Can u tell me exactly what is in the 3 bundle kit?" She paused and told me to hang on while she checked. This time, she asked me for my washer model.

She put me on hold for a good 5 mins. Then she came back, sounding a little nicer and less gruff than before. She now explained to me that she checked and my washer required a different pin/bolt and so the previous colleague was RIGHT and quoted me correctly. So now she will correct the order price charged.

Was it a relief! What a bloody narrow eascape! It's not the extra $10 saving I am relieved about. It was the fact I saved myself from a potential nightmare!

If she had sent me the wrong bolt for the tumbler, i would have been screwed BIG TIME because it takes 5-6days for the package to reach me, and considering i have to move next thursday, I am cutting it very close already. Imagine if the wrong bolts arrive and I cannot move my washer because of that! I would have died of frustrations! Either that or I will have move my A$1400 washer without the pin to hold the tumbler in place and risked wreaking it, costing another $600-800 to repair it since the warranty is over.

So moral of the story, never trust someone just because she/he thinks they know best especially when it comes to sydney general service. If you think something is amiss, always ask, probe and hassle. For me, my instincts have come to play again and rightly so, I trusted myself to push to ask even if it may seem like I am insulting her for not knowing her job. Hell is, I am proven right, she didnt know. Better to appear "untrusting" than be made a jackass of yourself.

Last Friends 11 Summary (part2)

Last Friends Episode 11 Review (part2)

Meanwhile over the months, Michiru had gotten use to living by herself. She felt that she couldnt contact ruka as she had betrayed her trust, and that she had not understood her dreams and feelings. And even if she will never see them again, she could still feel their presence and give her strength to live on.

On the other hand, Takeru borrowed a bike and encouraged Ruka to seek Michiru out He told Ruka that it was joy to live with her in sharehouse, but it was unbearable for him to see the missing piece in her heart.."So let's go and fill up the gap." he told Ruka. After failing to locate Michiru's mum, Ruka thought of Choshi where Michiru and her mum used to live

It was a fruitless search for one day. Takeru kept Ruka's spirit up by sharing that perhaps Michiru is waiting in some corner alone and waiting for them to find her. While camping out that night, Takeru finally revealed his past of his non blood related sister. Because of her, he was never able to form a proper relation nor provide any happiness for any woman. Ruka comforted him that he was wrong, and that she for one is very sure that he is able to make a woman very happy.

The next day, Ruka and takeru finally found a lead to Michiru's whereabout. On the way, they met with a mild accident and landed in hospital. Just as they were leaving, their bike couldnt start and by chance, Takeru spotted a heavily pregnant Michiru!

Back at Michiru's place, she said she would like to try hard in Choshi. Ruka asked her to return to Tokyo and live with them but she refused and that it was Sousuke's child. She felt that it was because of her that he had died, so she didnt have a right to be happy. She felt it was wrong for her to see for happiness from Ruka and Takeru as well. She was happy that with the baby, she wont need to feel lonely anymore and that Sousuke had forgiven her, and thus she can live on.

Ruka told her that Michiru's life doesnt belong to anyone but herself from now on. While she cannot forgive everything that Sousuke had done to Michiru including his despicable sucide, but the child within also belongs to Michiru. So Michiru is free to choose who the child gets to live with in future. "However, I would like to live with you both, even if not as a father to the child, but I hope to be a mentor to the child and be with you two." At this Takeru expressed his similar wish in agreement. He said that while two is better than one, 3 is better than 2 right! Ruka smiled and said including the baby it would be four. Hearing that, Michiru was so touched and thanked them. Suddenly she felt something was weird and went into labor pain!

At the hospital, Michiru safely delivered a baby girl and name her with a combination of her name, Ruka and Takeru.

At the end, while at the beach, Michiru wrote a letter to Eri. The 4 of them will return to sharehouse as "Family, friends, husband & wife, Lovers". While it is neither specifically one of the 4, all the 4 factors of relationship will bind them together as they strive to live happily in future...

Last Friends 11 Summary (Part 1)

Last friends Episode 11 Review (Part 1)

Ruka won the biker race competition. During the press conference, a reporter decided to pose one question to her. He mentioned that the recent article in the magazine must have cause relative challenge (disturbance) to her mentally and asked what was her view on the matter. He added that many of those present would also like to know the truth in the matter.

Takeru, Eri and Ruka's parent looked on worriedly wondering how Ruka would response to such an awkward question. However, Ruka replied that biking is a fair sport based on abilities and not gender. As a racer, she was proud to have won. Regardless of the rumours, she would never changed her determination and single mindedness of her passion. Until now her friends and family had supported & loved her throughout, not as a woman nor a man, but as a person and that is what make me most happy about and that was all she had wanted to say.

Outside the press conference room, Eri approached Ruka and told her that if only she had told her earlier. Eri said to a surpised Ruka "I would not be surprised. I would not have been frightened. Because, Ruka is Ruka. I'm sorry I am so retarded and not noticed earlier and hence put u under so much stress. It must have been a tough period till now."

Back at home, Takeru was wondering to Ruka about how Michiru was doing and if they should contact her. Ruka rejected the idea as she felt Michiru must be unable to accept the truth about Ruka and hence not appearing at the competition. It cannot be helped that things became this way. Just then, the phone rang and it was Michiru's mother looking for her. To his shock, he found out that Sousuke had died!

Everyone in share house was still reeeling in shock about Sousuke's sucidal death. Eri started to self reproach but Ogurin stopped her and stated it had nothing to do with her. Rather, it was because he had realised the bad things he had done.. Takeru informed that Michiru was still under incident investigation as witness. They all agreed to leave her alone at this moment.

Next morning, Ruka received a mail from Michiru stating that she would lived alone and asked everyone not to worry. Meanwhile, Ogurin apologetically said his goodbye to Eri as he informed he will be posted to Milan and be with his wife. Eri forbid him to say sorry but rather to thank her as their last goodbye.

Michiru moved back to the previous city her mum & her had lived in to begin her new life. During work, she accidentally found out she was pregnant. During check up, the doctor informed her that there may be a risk to both baby and mother during delivery due to some high blood pressure issue. That night, she recalled her first meeting with Sosuke as she pondered over the baby. She remenbered how he had once told her that because his mother had abandoned him at 10yr with one of her customer lover, hence he looked forward to being married with Michiru as soon as possible, and have a baby to have a happy family together with her.

To her surprise, Michiru found her mum waiting for her in her flat. The mum asked if she was pregnant with Sosuke's child. Michiru kept quiet and her mum told her to abort it. Michiru rejected the idea and said she would raise the child herself. Her mum started to comment how expensive it will be to have a child and what a liability it will be. To her surprise, Michiru asked her mum if that was how she had saw her- a burden, as she had always had that sneaking suspicions of being so. Michiru declared emotionally unlike her mum, she would raised the child with utmost love! Her mum told her that she used to have the same idea - that everything would be alright with just the 2 of them (baby and mother). Looking at Michiru, her mum smiled and said she will leave the final decision to Michiru.

Last friends - Ep 11 Recap: Sousuke Last Letter

"Michiru,

Goodybe Michiru.
I'm giving you back your freedom.
I would only restrict you if I continue to Live,
and so, to let you have your freedom, this heart of mine has to stop.

I had wanted to be your everything.
To be your everything in the world you are in and see,
to be your very light that shine on you.
To be your every happiness that you have.
(Note: I am unsure if I got just the para above exactly right as it was alittle bit overwhelming for my rusty Japanese... but the idea is that he want to be and in everything of Michiru's world)

No matter where, No matter when, I just want to be one with you.
But yet, in a world without me, you have found happiness.
That is why, I had better leave.
While my palms still have reminisce of your warmth,
while my body still have remaining memories of being together as one with yours.

I'm sorry
I turly love your smile so much, and yet, I was unable to make you happy
I'm sorry.
I didnt know the way to love you.
I'm sorry.
I am unable to make you happy.

Goodbye, Michiru.
You must be happy!"

My thoughts

[OMG, the letter was so touching! I could almost feel the anguish before he decided to die. Poor chap, so misguided and so in love.... like I said in last episode recap, I was begining to feel sorry for him and while it was cowardly to just die, he knew he could nevr tame the monster inside him and so he decided to free the woman he love in the only way he knew how.... My eyes were getting misty just thinking about him in those last moments.....]

Last friends Last Episode 11

Last friends last episode is out! Not sure if I have time to complete the recap tonight with so much packing to do, but I will try! If it's not up tonight, it should be by tomorrow. OMG, I am so looking forward to it! Wonder if Michiru will die from bith complications...

Such a sad Zettai Kareshi episode...

It's 3.30am Sydney time and finally finished the translated recap for Zettai episode 10 (Part 1 recap). Didnt want to wait till tomorrow or I have to reload the whole damn video clip again and waste my limited (expensive) bandwidth.

OMG.... it's such a sad episode! The part when Night was leaving Rikko was so touching.....this is one episode that I have actually enjoyed watching Night without getting annoyed at any point. And possibly one of the few episode that I bothered to insert more screen capture.

Night's sad expression was especially good and with all his annoying robotic actions being gone (because of the overheating), actually made him more endearing here.

In the manga, Night "died" as in totally unrebootable nor usable. I wonder how the drama will end it here. Next week! the final ep!

Zettai Kareshi 10 Summary (Part2)

At the bar, Night confronted Soshi if he (soshi) truly liked Rikko. Night solemnly told Soshi that he (Night) truly love Rikko, to which Soshi replied he was aware. Night told Soshi that Rikko was fretting over him. However to a surprised Night, Soshi explained that he was not the reason but rather it was the invitation to Paris by the famous french Patisserie and that it was a big chance for her. When Soshi knew that she did not tell Night about the offer, he told night that as expected, Night was important to Rikko afterall. "However if you truly love and looking out for her, then would you be able to silently support her from afar?" Soshi asked Night.

Just then, Night's temperature went up and he fell onto his knees. A worried Soshi dashed to him but was shocked by his burning temperature. Soshi tried to call for an ambulance but Night stopped him as he did not want to waste any money on "maintenance service", confusing Soshi at those words. When Night finally reached home escorted by Soshi, he collapsed again before a worried Rikko!

While Rikko was cooling down Night temperature in the room, Soshi accidentally picked up the operation manual and to his shock, he discovered the "ideal boyfriend" robotic truth about Night! When Rikko called out to him, Soshi quickly stashed the manual away and hurridedly excused himself to leave. Back in the bar, Soshi sat quietly by himself deep in thoughts and feeling mixed about what he had seen earlier!

(Next small sweet scene: Night and Rikko was chatting about him sleeping on her bed the first time and he told her he loved. This time instead of getting upset as she normally does, Rikko smiled and replied Yes (I know) before leaving him to rest in her room)

Next day In the park, Rikko finally told Mikka the truth about Night's robotic identity. Mikka confessed that she had originally intended to steal Night away from Rikko. However she finally understood after her resignation, she was only envious that Rikko had a supporting companion by her side. Mikka shared that it would be impossible for herself to accept a robot boyfriend but Rikko probably could as she is overly devoted and serious about relationships.

In the father's office, the father told Soshi's brother about Rikko's and Soshi's trip to Paris. Soshi's brother pretended not to know but his father outrightly asked "You were the one who had asked the french patisserie for the favor to train Rikko and Soshi right? And you recognised her talent right?" A surprised Soshi's brother however replied it was a great business opportuntiy as he intended to sign on Rikko to Asamoto after her training. To which his father father and replied it was indeed his style!

When Rikko returned, she found Soshi waiting at her flat building to pass her the Paris flight ticket. At the same time, Soshi declared he was serious about liking her. "From now on, I would like to slowly know you bit by bit." Rikko however did not express any excitement. Soshi almost mentioned about Night but changed his mind and instead told Rikko that he would pick her up tomorrow eve.

When Rikko stepped into her flat, she was surprised by Night who baked a cake in celebration of her Paris trip.

When Rikko enquired abt the clover that Night served with the cake, he explained he wished it would bring her goodluck and protect her throughout her Paris trip. Rikko was touched and promised to cherish it. While Rikko was eating the cake, Night told her that he felt blessed to have met and fell in love with Rikko, and every second spent with her had become his precious treasure.

"When I got to Paris, we will be apart." Rikko told Night. However Night replied: "Even if we are apart, I would still cheer u on!" When Rikko asked "Why", Night answered: "Because i hope U will have a dream. So don't worry about me. I will prepare and wait, for you to return home anytime without worries. So please Rikko, do go to Paris."

Touched by Night's word, Rikko commented thatNight's program was amazing! However, Night told her seriously it wasnt the program.... "...You should know, it's because I love you. To me, You are the best girlfriend." With that, Rikko smiled and thanked him, and finally decided to go to Paris. Unexpectedly, Night begin to malfunction again due to overheating. As she was nursing him, Rikko had a flashback of the warning from Kronos staff that Night functions might ceased completely.

The next morning, Rikko asked Kronos staff to service Night. She worriedly seek assurance that Night's memories will not be erased. However she was told they could not warrant 100% but will try their best. Night stumbled out and saw the Kronos people. He tried to convince Rikko he was fine but almost collapsed again. He finally agreed to be serviced after seeing Rikko got frustrated because he obviously was "unwell".

Before Night was taken away, Rikko handed the clover to him for goodluck. Night was surprised and touched. He slowly ambled towards Rikko and tenderly hugged her, telling her softly "I love you" at the same time. A happy Rikko smiled and leand on him, and Night's bracelet started to flash pink to the surprise of the lab assistant. After saying their sad goodbyes, Night left and Rikko stood alone staring at the door.

While packing, Rikko looked sadly at the ticket with Night's scribble (Rikko you can fulfil your dream). She started to ramble about her mixed feelinsg to the bar owner who had came to help her pack. Sensing her confusion, the bar owner cut her off and firmly stated that hasnt Rikko already decided to leave with Soshi for Paris? The dream and love she had always wished for havent they all materialised? She told rikko not to let the important things before her slipped away. "But, Night is also important to me" Rikko confided. Sensing that Rikko need to think things through herself, the bar owner took her leave. Just then, Gaku called and told her "You have been tricked!"

Gaku explained to Rikko about Kronos intention to reset Night's uncontrollable program and manifestation of own thoughts. He told her that Night is no longer an appliance, he is now truly a unique individual with hsi own personality! As Rikko rushed out, she apologised to a waiting Soshi that she had decided not to leave for Paris! When a shocked Soshi asked what had happened, Rikko told him she couldnt abandon Night and rushed off, leaving a sad Soshi by himself.

Just as Gaku rushed into the lab, the guy hit the erase button!
