Dinner at Far Horizon (Palm Cove)

We decided to try our dinner at "Far Horizon", which is the restaurant part of the Angsana Hotel group.

While the beach front setting was good and relaxed, with palm tree setting and all.I honestly didnt think too highly of the seafood platter which we decide to share. We thought it was not fresh seafood and overpriced for A$55 just for the seafood that consists of miserly few peeled prawns, one morten bug, few lousy calamari, and overcook scallops. The entree of fresh red claw was much better but dessert of creme brulee was a complete let down. I have never tasted a thicker flamed sugar crust than that! I felt like i could cut something with that top.
The only thing which we thought was moderately good were the grilled oyster entree but for any chef to fk that dish up has to be greatest moron anycase.

The meal wasnt cheap and u can bet that we wont be back again. I wonder how the chef even won an Gourmet food award in 2004 and 2005 with such sub-standard...

Suffice to say, this place is for rich tourists who doesnt know their food. Its beautiful settings within Palm Cove which i do not deny, but its definitely not value for money if you know whereelse to go!
